Are There Any Campgrounds in Las Vegas ?

There are three words that I didn’t think I’d ever say in a single sentence : Las Vegas camping.  Somehow the terms just don’t seem to go together very well.  This is probably why I told my husband he was silly when he revealed that he scheduled a Vegas camping trip last year.

When many of us consider visiting Vegas, campgrounds aren’t the first thing that is evoked.  With all the top Las Vegas hostels available, all the casinos and shows, many of us never think about this as a destination even if we love an outdoors life.  Yet, in addition to being one of the best locations for travellers who prefer to live the high life, Vegas is also one of the top places to experience the great outside.  Vegas camping is truly top quality.

Of course, Las Vegas camp grounds vary very greatly in quality, so you’ve got to do the research conscientiously.  Las Vegas camping is only actually a brilliant idea if you’re there for more than just the shows, nightlife and casinos. By all means have a day or two in town but the main reason for camping should be the outdoor attractions that you will find in the area around your campsite. The fact is, if you want good Las Vegas camping at an inexpensive price, you have got to get well outside the city limits.  Otherwise, all you will find will be drive-in camping at much higher costs than you really should have to pay.  The best Vegas camping is along one of the streams that flow through the state of Nevada.  For instance, you can kayak below the Hoover dam on the Colorado River.  There’s a profusion of camping sites around Las Vegas, but unless you’ve got a specific area under consideration , or you want to combine a visit to “sin city” with a camping trip then there are much more picturesque locations for you to take your vacation.

The explanation for this is that Vegas camping can be a bit rough.  The weather will invariably be very hot, and there is an absence of the cool shady wooded areas that the majority like on their camping trips.  This isn’t to assert that you must give up on Vegas camping.  It can offer its own rewards, but it is not for the faint of heart.  You would do much better camping up in the Northwest if you’re searching for a good first out of doors destination.

Spending day after day in the desert could be a actually trying experience for a novice camper.  Vegas camping, of course , requires some of the most careful preparations that you can imagine.  If you are going to go into the desert to camp, you want to bring plenty of water, the right food, and the right clothing.  Keeping cool when doing Las Vegas camping is nearly a matter of survival.  If you do not manage to do it, you will lose your strength quickly.  You may be marooned miles and miles from civilization.  Things can get extraordinarily dark very quickly in the desert, so be forewarned and be prepared.  Some may suggest that you wear long sleeves and relaxed fit slacks to keep the sun off your skin, you might want to put that recommendation aside.  The first day of our Las Vegas camping journey was really uncomfortable particularly since I was dressed from head to toe.

Wear shorts and a t-shirt.  Trust me.  You can expect to do lots of walking in the Las Vegas camping trip and you actually want to keep cool.  Otherwise you might find yourself feeling tired and uncomfortable.

With all the walking concerned on a Las Vegas camping excursion you actually need to invest in shoes that keep your feet chuffed.  I discovered that my shoes were the cream of the crop and my feet were thanking me even on day one.  Shoes are a selection of the most vital points to think about when planning your Las Vegas camping trip.

Don’t forget your suntan lotion.  The sun is always shining.  Okay, there is the occasional downpour that comes out of nowhere but the rain leaves as fast as it comes.  I have never seen anything like it.  Suntan lotion is a must on your Las Vegas camping holiday.

There is a related website on Dorset Holiday Parks, the adjoining county to Devon. If you are planning a trip to the UK West Country then why not hire a car at Exeter Airport.
